We are pleased to announce the 1st annual San Antonio Area Homeschool Battle of the Books (BoB)!
Who: BoB is a reading competition for children and young adults from 3rd grade up.
What: Students group into teams of three and read a list of 20 great books over the course of 6 months. They then meet four times to “battle” against the other teams. Questions are asked revealing unique content from each book and the teams receive points for correctly identifying the book. At the end of the season, championship battles are held to reward the top three teams.

When: Pre-Registration is open NOW through September 7, 2012.
Why: I (Hannah Bridges) participated in the Waukesha Area Homeschool BoB for two years. I hope to instill a love of reading in the participants, even the hesitant readers. It’s always enjoyable for me to
see how dedicated the students are and how hard they work throughout the season.

Registration and Informational Meeting: Join us on .............. at ............ to formulate your teams, pay the registration fee, and watch a mock battle.
Registration fees: $10 per child and $5 for any additional children from the same family. All the money
collected will be used to purchase prizes for the winning teams and for expenses for printed materials.
